Camerino is a historical town, which became important especially during the middle-age and the Reinassance under the noble family of the da Varano. In 1336 the University, one of the oldest in Italy, was founded. Camerino is conveniently located in an enchanting hilltop position at 661m a.s.l, near both to spectacular Apennine mountains and to the pleasant Adriatic coast.
